Information
Bêtise de Cambrai is a mint candy invented in the town of Cambrai in northern France. Bêtises de Cambrai were invented by Emile Afchain almost 200 years ago. Starting out as a manufacturing error, the candies became a phenomenal success, thanks in particular to their refreshing and digestive properties. Since that time, many people have tried to copy this unique taste, without ever managing to match it.
Bêtises de Cambrai are still manufactured today, and have evolved to give way to new aromas and flavours: apple, violet, fruit tuttis, aniseed, caramel, honey, poppy, mirabelle plum and even ice-cold mint. Available in small individual sachets, in huge 1 kilogram packs, or as an assortment in pretty tins, there are many choices !
